Little girl!

Today I had a little girl that I did not know. She was so cute. SHy at first. I think I did pretty good. THe little gilr was aweswome! She was not afraid. I thought it was cute. SHe said. when my mom said i was going to the dentist I was scared , but i'm not scared, I didn't know it would be this fun. I thought that was just adorable. She really didnm't like her teeth disclosed. I also had a paitient come in after her. I scaled his teeth I stayed within the time, but candace helped me fo r a long time so He didn't get out for a while, but I loved the help. I feel like Candace helps me so much and Aimee too. THey're awesome. My goal for next time is to be quick and organized for my mommY!!!!!

Nieces and Nephews!

TOday i saw my nieces and nephew. But I only cleaned my oldest nieces teeth. I was way slow. but I gave a lot of OHI because my niece really doesn't want to brush her teeth. She hates to do it. I really hope she will do better. I'll follow up on that. I also saw my nephew but just for pretend. He was way excited. My goal for next time is to be faster with the kid. That was my trial run. Now I will be fast and have fun with the next kid. I hope I will be able to have my sister come in too.

Crazy!!

Today I finished my first exam patinet. It was fo 1B but it was way close to a 2. I think I did okay. I have ahard time positioning myself with the ultra sonic. I will get better. I stayed within the time limit so i think I did pretty well. My goal for next time is to be a happy clinician and help my neices and nephew's not be scared. They are so cute. I want to really help motivate my neice to take better care of her teeth. I also worked on my sis today. I took 4BWX

Utlra SOnic!!

I am just about to learn ultra sonic!! crazy huh. I"m excited, I really hope this goes well and I can learn how to do it. I don't understand why the thing doesn't hurt the tooth? but what ever theysay!! I'll let ya know how it goes....well hello the day is done! IT actually went very well. Laurie is a great patient. I felt bad becasue I am not a good patient. I have a lot of recession so i jump jump jump all day long. I am going ot try the flouride varnish. My goal for next time is to use my ultra sonic on my patient.( unless my nieces are coming in) I won't be here until wednesday cuz Monday is Presidents day!! Happy valentines day.

CA again

Today I was CA. It went a little better today. I think i'm better at makeing charts. I had to put a cleaning film through. Then I helped check in patients then I walked around and helped chart for a few people. I love when people chart for me!!! my goal for next time is to read ahead in the module for ultra sonic so I know what's going on. That's that!!

two in one!

Today I scheduled to PT's. My first was just a prophy, but my polisher wasn't working. SO I did a toothbrush polish. It went well I thought I did good I did all of her scaling in 50 minutes. That is a long time, but I will get faster I just have to focus and be organized. Then I had an appointment where I just did OD. It went way good. I charted a lot of stuff though. That means I would have finished a real patient in one day!! Hey that's amazing! So today was a good day. I declared my second pt as an exam patient. I hope I do good. I just have to go fast. I'm scared but oh well. My goal for next time is to be an awesome clinical assistant! I want to help everyone! Esp laurie ( but she never needs it) She is so awesome she always helps me clean up. First not known pt

Today I had my first patient that I didn't know. I think the x-rays went well. She wanted four bitewings. They turned out okay, but costley wanted me to get all three molars on one film so I had to retake some. I just wish oneday I could get a lot done. I feel really frustrated right now because everytime a pt comes in I have to go through and do all the new charting. I really just feel like I'm getting behind and I will not be able to get all my requirements. I think xrays and probing take too long. I wonder if I'm taking too much time on probing because I try to get the perfect measurement. It seems like other girls are just hurrying through probing and marking only deep pockets if the find them quick and thenjust writing 323 or 212 if they don't find anything too out of the normal. It's crazy I"m soooo slow!!! I think i'm good at OHI though. I give my pt a lot of information. SO atleast I"m good at something.
